Cloudy Sunrise

Um...hello there. My name is Cloudy Sunrise, but I prefer Cloud. I guess you want to know a little about me if you are seeing this, so here is some info about me.

To start with, I grew up on the outskirts towards the north of Ponyville with my mom, dad, and brother. My mom, being a Pegasus and not an Earth pony like my dad, liked for us to live closer to her home in the sky, so my childhood home was almost directly below her old home in the clouds. After I became old enough, I got a place of my own, also outside of Ponyville but to the southwest, near Whitetail Wood; there I live alone with my books, thoughts and my annoying loving cat Ruby. Due to my relative closeness to Whitetail Wood, I get to see lots of wildlife now and again. I love animals; however, don't think I don't have friends...because I do...I guess. I have a few friends at least, one of my favorite being Fluttershy *blush*, but whatever.

As you can probably tell, I'm shy; however, if I know you well enough I can talk up a storm, the only problem is that I usually don't know when to shut up and choose topics that some may find nerdy or boring. Things I enjoy and love to talk about include reading, writing, drawing, animals, and playing games. My favorite game is Magic the Gathering, a card game I play with my friends; it has monsters, dragons, and even knights!

Right now in my life I’m attending a university in hopes of getting a future job, but I’m also going to gain a bit of knowledge. I don’t really have a job, so the only money I get comes from my parents and student aid. Being a single pony without a job is a bit of a bummer, but by finishing school, I hope to change all of that and make something of myself.

Well, the last thing I really have to say about myself is what my cutie mark means. Like most cutie marks, it's a metaphor for something greater instead of an actual image of what it means. My cutie mark symbolizes the constant pursuit of knowledge, something I discovered I enjoyed at a very young age. The sun symbol shows that knowledge is something we all need, like the sun, and that it can light up our worlds like nothing else, the compass shape symbolizes the search for knowledge, and the eye shows that with knowledge, we can see the world like we never did before. Although my cutie mark is a sun, it is black, symbolizing that although the pursuit of knowledge is something that can reap some very great rewards, it can also reap pain and suffering if you don't know exactly what you are looking for. I have never personally encountered anything bad in my pursuits of knowledge, but I almost did, which is how I received my mark in the first place, but that is a story for another day.
